MY TRAINING
With over 40 years of experience as a photographer, I bring a diverse creative background, including being a published cartoonist, fine artist, and PBS-aired videographer. I graduated from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy in 1976 and dedicated over four decades of service to our veterans at the Robert J. Dole VA in Wichita, KS, retiring in 2018.

Upon retirement, I redirected my passion for photography and videography to the natural world, capturing the beauty of sunlight, moonlight, rain, snow, clouds, and seascapes, all of which became my primary subjects and classroom for learning. Today, my focus is on both indoor and outdoor portrait sessions, which continue to challenge, teach, and refine my photography skills, allowing me to deliver exceptional, personalized portraits and fine art imagery that reflect my extensive experience and ever-evolving artistry.

RON’S CORE VALUES
I love remembering life’s experiences. To me there’s nothing more enjoyable than interacting with family, friends, co-workers, people you just met, and sharing memories, thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Memories are the most important thing I have. When I was young, my parents took photographs and movie pictures. I looked at them often, reliving holidays, people, trips and so much more.
Thanks to these photos and movies I have a great memory of my life and people in it. As a young adult, getting married, having children, working, traveling, socializing- I never forgot what my parents did to preserve the past with the images they took. I carried cameras constantly. Now, I’m asked, “How do you remember that ?” The answer is simple: I took a picture, image or portrait. I’m a photographer and videographer. Photos, images and portraits capture a person, a family, a group or place at a certain moment in time. It may have been “now” when it was taken, but it immediately becomes “then” a minute later. Often, what I considered insignificant “then” has become a most cherished memory “now”.
Most people want to remember themselves and others, “back then”. This is lost without personal photos, images and portraits. I think of Nature the same way. Much of Nature’s beauty and miracles would be forgotten if not for recorded images. Nature changes with time. “Now” becomes “then” for it too. I love photography. It’s fun capturing “now” with photos and images. It’s rewarding to remember life memories through portraits and images taken “now". Photography is my life’s art. Photography is my passion.
